Set of 16 Shim Under Buckets/Lifters/Tappets for the:
First generation Yamaha V-Max 1200 (1985-2007).
 
These buckets are used to convert the original heavy bucket and shim to a more modern arrangement where the shim is held by the retainer bellow the bucket like it is commonly used in most current high performance motorcycles. These buckets must be used with ABUSO Shim Under Titanium Retainers.
 
This has various advantages:
First - The shim will not spit out when using aggressive camshafts and increasing the RPM limit because it is held between the retainer and the bucket.
 
Second - there is a great reduction in valvetrain weight of 12g per valve. This reduction results from a lighter retainer (Titanium vs Steel), a much lighter shim (9,5mm vs 25mm diameter) and a much lighter bucket. These factors ensure the greatest performance and reliability for racing or heavily modified engines.
 
The orginal bucket and shims weight 36g and the ABUSO Shim Under Conversion weights 25g (both considering the weight of the shims). This is an 11g improvement per valve - just from the bucket!
 
These buckets are compatible with stock base circle cams.
