These are a direct replacement for the original steel retainers on the:
Kawasaki ZX-12 R (2000-2006)
Kawasaki ZX-10 Tomcat 1988-1989
Kawasaki ZX-11 ZZR 1100 (1989-2001)
 
 
The original steel retainers weight 8.8g and the ABUSO titanium retainers weight 5.3g.
 
These retainers have a smaller profile/height (1,0 mm shorter) to allow for more valve lift without contact with the oil seal and without requiring valve guide modifications.
 
Using lightweight titanium retainers allows for more aggressive camshaft profiles (lift and duration) without losing control of the valve and increased rpm limits - a must for any performance / race engine.
